Porsche 911 Cabriolet was presented at Detroit


The Porsche company brought an absolutely new cabriolet Porsche 911 Cabrio at the Detroit car show though the official photos and the information about it was had already been known in November of 2011.
As well as a new convertible coupe 2012 equipped with a standard 262, 4 cu in (3, 4 liter) six-cylinder engine generating about 350 h/p. More powerful upgrade version which has got the ‘Carrera S’ label is equipped a 231, 9 cu in (3, 8-liters) 394 h/p engine of a little bit higher acceleration rate. Both of the engines can team up with a seven-gear mechanical transmission, and a double-clutched seven-gear PDK one.


Comparing this new Porsche 911 Cabriolet with the previous modification we can say that the new one has got a longer wheelbase, a wider front wheels track and a new electromechanical steering booster which response better to the driver’s commands. One more not less important feature is weight reduction that allows the car to peek up the speed up to 60 off a spot faster than the predecessor.


The designers decided to equip Porsche 911 Cabrio with a classic fabric top. To fold or unfold the top  is possible at the speed of 31 mph (50 km/h).
