This all-new compact SUV was presented at the
Beijing Motor Show, and this was just previews a production version that would
be launched in 2014 in China.
It appears to be larger than traditional MG cars
but the vehicle is still quite small for a crossover. When comparing this very
model to Nissan Juke size wise it appears to be pretty much the same. This
five-door Icon Concept, as you can see, gets its inspiration from the original
MGB GT in what concerns the styling and that can be seen in the rounded
head-lights, narrow tail lanterns and slender, lateral grille. But anyway the
platform is inherited from the up-to-date Roewe 350 and MG 5 that are sold in
the market of China.
MG Company never declared much about the Icon's
mechanical portion or technology used; instead they focused on its design.
Nevertheless we know that the Icon is equipped with
a 91, 54 cu in (1.5-liter) turbocharged 4-cylinder 135 bhp gasoline engine
which gives 148 lb-ft of the driving torque.
