Volkswagen hybrid cars at the DAS

The German company “Volkswagen” showed two ecologically harmless cars at the Detroit Auto Show. The first car was constructed using the wheelbase of the sedan ‘Jetta’, the second one was based on the model ‘Beetle’ named ‘E-Bugster Concept’.

The hybrid version of Volkswagen Jetta will appear in the city streets already in the nearest future, it will be equipped a petrol 1, 4 liter turbo engine and a 36 powers electric-motor .

The maximum capacity of the given car engine is about 170 h/p, the acceleration (from 0 to 100 km/h takes only 9 seconds), thus we have to note a terrific fuel –consumption cut. The engine is teamed up with a new 7 gear transmission DSG, a system of the regenerative braking and a ‘start/stop’ system.

The second hybrid car named as Beetle E-Bugster Concept has got the road clearance which is almost (8 sm) smaller than the original Volkswagen Beetle. And it is not all exterior changes according to which possible to differ the old car from the modern one. For example the concept vehicle has got a flatter roof, windows doors of a different kind, diverse bumpers and absence of side windows in a rare part. Speaking about its power unit, this car is equipped with a 114 h/p electric motor and electric transmission “Blue-E-Motion”. Representatives of the company assure that the battery 80 % charge needs only 30 minutes.
