death of country-rock pioneer
1973. On this very day Gram Parsons
died of "multiple drug use" (tequila and morphine) in a motel room in
the US, CA. He was a 26-year-old musician. This fact inspired one of the
strangest car-related crimes on the world record: His body was stashed by two
of his friends in a borrowed catafalque and took it into the middle of the
Joshua Tree National Park then they plunged it with gasoline and fired it up.
